12 Yummy Ways to Use up Thanksgiving Leftovers

November 20, 2018 by Annie Chesson Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving = a holiday totally centered around food. And guess who’s not complaining about that? 👋

I love how food-centric it is, and I think it’s super fun to all get together in the kitchen and cook our faces off, preparing a super comforting, delicious meal for family and friends. And once it’s all over, you feast for days on the leftovers…It is BAAEEEE.

This statement may offend some of you greatly, but I tend to get sick of eating the same exact Thanksgiving meal for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the handful of days following the main event. If you’re in that boat with me, keep scrollin’, because I’ve compiled a delicious list of ways you can use up those leftovers! From pizza to soup to quesadillas, you can kiss those repetitive leftover meals goodbye!

Let’s get started…

#1: Turkey Dumplings

Because who doesn’t need a perfectly combined mashup of the ULTIMATE comfort food dish (thanks for bein’ you, chicken and dumplings) + a massive load of delicious turkey and other leftover goodies.

#2: Thanksgiving in a Blanket

The title of this one alone made it worthy of being in this roundup. “Thanksgiving in a Blanket” – love it. I love that it gives you the visual of shoving everything on your Thanksgiving spread into a crescent roll and baking it. Which is baaaasically exactly what you do here – #winning.

#3: Turkey and Stuffing Roll-Ups

These are reminiscent of enchiladas: Thanksgiving style. I’m on board. I’m on board hardcore.

#4: Turkey Cranberry Brie Grilled Cheese

Can’t you just picture the combo of tender turkey + savory, melty brie cheese + a bright, sweet, fresh bite from the cranberry sauce? Like…why haven’t I thought of this yet and eaten it EVERY YEAR?! It’s okay, I have many years to make up for my past mistakes.

#5: Turkey Gnocchi Soup

This makes me think of Olive Garden’s Chicken and Gnocchi Soup, which makes this an automatic winner for me, because that soup is hard. to. beat, friends.

#6: Turkey Sliders with Cranberry Sriracha Sauce

Switching it up here for a more unique recipe with that cranberry sriracha sauce, which sounds freakin’ GOOD, if I do say so myself. I love the idea of a hot, baked slider with everything you love about Thanksgiving stuffed inside + a unique little spin with that sauce. Down.

#7: Thanksgiving Leftovers Quesadilla

Because why not? I’m going to be honest, I would have never thought of a “leftovers quesadilla,” but I’m so glad someone did and introduced it to the internet world. Brilliant.

#8: Turkey Hash

For the breakfast lovers out there, don’t leave the leftovers just for lunch and dinner! Throw some into your breckie too! I’m for sure doing that this year.

#9: Leftover Stuffing Waffles

Sadly, I do not have a waffle maker, and recipes like this are the EXACT reason why I have one on my Christmas list this year. I love how it’s a food trend right now to waffle-ize things other than the traditional waffle batter. Shoving a bunch of thanksgiving stuffing into a waffle maker and getting it super crispy and delicious is something that I am VERY INTERESTED in. Anyone have a waffle maker I can borrow for November?

#10: Thanksgiving Leftover Pull-Apart Bread

This one takes the cake for me out of this whole list. It makes my mouth water just thinking about it, and what a clever idea. I am excited to try this one out!

#11: Slow Cooker Leftover Turkey Pie soup

I mean, how comforting does that sound? And how easy to just throw your leftover turkey + some other goodies into your crock pot and let it simmer away all day while your recover from the cooking marathon sesh you just crushed (high five – you rock).

#12: Leftover Thanksgiving Turkey Pizza

I had to end on this…because pizza is life. And I couldn’t love anything more than the idea of throwing Thanksgiving leftovers onto some dough and making it into the world’s most awesome food: pizza. I want it in my life this year.

And that concludes our list, friends! Spice up your leftover life! And happy almost Thanksgiving, my lovely internet friends ❤️.
