Boy! We are having a sweet little baby boy in July. ^^ That’s how we announced it on social media a few days ago. I posted the black and white picture, opened up the floor for anyone who wanted to make any guesses, and then posted the color version later. So much fun!
If you’ve read a lot of my past blog posts, you know that I was feeeeeeling like it was a boy but kind of wanting it to be a girl. The thought of watching Seth with a baby girl and seeing him get all wrapped around her little finger was heart melting to me. BUT – now that I know we’re having a boy, I’m super excited about it. And Seth is definitely excited about it, too. He really wanted a boy!
First of all, BOY BABY CLOTHES ARE ADORABLE. It’s all overalls and cars and trucks and dinosaurs and tiny little onesies so cute you could just cry. I’ve never been a girly girl, so all the baby girl clothes with the pink puffy frilly little dresses didn’t trip my trigger as much. Obviously we will be ecstatic about having a baby girl when that day comes, but for now, we are both super excited about our boy!
Obviously we can’t be serious enough to have a for-real photoshoot…and I was very afraid that balloon was going to pop as Seth was shoving it up his shirt.
I’m trying to think of what else can I tell you now that you all know the gender… The nursery is pretty neutral – all cozy grays and creams, but we do have a definite boyish adventure, explorer theme going on with some, but not many, blue accents. Have you been to Hobby Lobby? If so, you’ve basically walked into our nursery.
In Hobby Lobby, they have a nursery section, and we basically own all of the explorer/adventurer themed decor. Whoops…I had a lapse of self control. I can also tell you his name now that you know the gender! His name is Ford Taylor Chesson. Not after the truck…several people have asked us that…no, people – we are not naming our son after a car 😂. We just like the name. And Taylor is Seth’s middle name, so that’s where that comes from.
Anyway…yay for boys!
Have a wonderful Tuesday!
