Hello there, friends! I’m popping in for a quick check-in just to let you know what’s been going on over here in our neck of the woods. We welcomed sweet baby Colton on November 21st after a crazy, craaaazy quick labor. I’ll post a full birth story after I’m officially back from maternity leave, but let’s just say I slid onto that epidural train by the skin of my teeth…I was minutes away from missing my chance. Things got REAL reaaaaal quick!
He came two weeks early, which was actually pretty perfect timing since we had a bunch of family visiting for Thanksgiving! Double awesomeness of everyone getting to experience new, squishy baby snuggles + lots of help with Ford and the new baby for the first several days.
Since then, we have been trying to adjust to the new life of two kids instead of one, and let me tell you…dang…it’s an adjustment for sure. I wouldn’t trade it for the world, but on some days it is blissfully wonderful and on other days we are riding the struggle bus. Little Colton has a hard time on some days – we are thinking he has some reflux going on, and we just got him on Zantac yesterday. So far it really seems to be helping, but time will tell. Even with his little reflux belly, we love the crap out of him.
On top of all that, we are prepping for a big move next week! Seth is getting out of the Army and we are moving home to North Carolina. The movers come on the 7th and we officially are blowing this popsicle stand on the 11th. Peace out Kansas – you will be missed, but we are also super excited to get back to North Carolina!
As for the next couple of months, I’m still on maternity leave until the end of February, but I have posts auto-scheduled to go live once a week until then, so you’ll still be hearing from me. I hope you have all had a wonderful holiday season! I am looking forward to getting back to chatting with you on a regular basis! And now…some baby pictures from Colt’s newborn shoot 😍.

Pretty dang cute, huh? Happy new year, friends!
He is so beautiful, congratulations! I remember that adjustment going from one child to two. It was quite the experience. My two are now six and eight years old and I’m loving the 2 year age gap even though in those early days I wasn’t sure if I would make it! They play beautifully together and have such an amazing strong bond. Remember that will come when you are struggling to make it through the day in one piece. I hope you enjoyed the rest of your maternity leave and started work ok. 2020 right?
