Simple Sesame Noodles


  • 1 box whole wheat spaghetti
  • 1/2 cup soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh grated ginger
  • 1 clove garlic, grated
  • Sesame seeds – optional garnish


  1. Cook whole wheat spaghetti in boiling, salted water until al dente (follow package instructions)
  2. In a skillet, combine all the ingredients for the sauce (soy sauce, brown sugar, water, sesame oil, ginger, garlic). Whisk together
  3. Bring to a simmer and cook for a few minutes, until just thickened slightly. Set aside
  4. Drain the pasta using a colander, and add the spaghetti back into the large pot
  5. Once back in the large pot, pour your sauce over the pasta. Toss until totally combined and serve! Optional topping – sesame seeds
