Brown Butter Popcorn

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or canola oil
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 6 tablespoons butter
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Drizzle 1/2 to 1 tablespoon of vegetable or canola oil into the bottom of your popcorn popper (I used a Whirley Pop, but you can use whatever you have)
  2. Pop your popcorn over medium-medium high heat
  3. Dump your popcorn into a large bowl and set aside
  4. In a skillet, melt your butter over medium-medium high heat and let it melt, swirling it around the pan often
  5. Continue to let the butter cook and simmer until it has turned a golden brown color
  6. Transfer to a small bowl
  7. Drizzle the butter little by little over the popcorn, tossing in between drizzles
  8. Salt the popcorn to taste
  9. **Note: if your popcorn popper doesn’t allow oil to be used, that is completely fine. Just follow the instructions on whatever popper you use**
