Lavender Lemonade

For the lavender simple syrup

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons dried lavender

For the lemonade

  • 8 cups cold water
  • 1 cup lemon juice (this was about 8 lemons for me!)
  • The lavender simple syrup

Instructions

For the lavender simple syrup

  1. Add your sugar, water, and lavender to a small pot
  2. Bring to a boil and boil, stirring often, until the sugar has dissolved (it won’t take long at all – no more than a minute or two)
  3. Remove the pot from the heat and let the lavender steep for 5 minutes
  4. When the five minutes are up, strain the simple syrup through a fine mesh strainer to remove all the lavender pieces

For the lemonade

  1. Add your water, lemon juice, and simple syrup to a large pitcher and stir to combine
  2. Serve over lots of ice!

Notes

There is no need to let your simple syrup cool since you are using cold water. It isn’t enough in volume to make the lemonade warm.
